|
Performance Comparison |
Aerogel Coating |
Traditional Insulation Materials |
|
1. Thermal Insulation Performance |
Thermal conductivity 0.032W/(m·K); 3D network porous structure, superior insulation effect |
Polystyrene ≈ 0.035W/(m·K); Rock wool board ≈ 0.035–0.047W/(m·K) |
|
2. Fire Resistance Level |
Generally Class A or A2, low fire risk, belongs to A-class fire-resistant materials |
Polystyrene, polyurethane, etc., are usually flammable (Class B); rock wool can be Class A, but some unqualified ones pose a risk |
|
3. Ease of Application |
Can be sprayed, brushed, or rolled; adaptable to complex shapes and surfaces; less demanding on labor skills; ideal for irregular structures and curved surfaces |
Requires cutting, pasting, and sealing on site; construction process is complex; higher requirements for worker skill |
|
4. Lightweight & Thin |
Coating thickness typically 1–2mm, saves space, reduces construction load |
Common thickness 30–50mm or more, bulkier |
|
5. Waterproof & Moisture Resistance |
Water repellency ≥ 99%, highly resistant to moisture |
Some materials need additional waterproofing; insulation performance may drop if moisture is absorbed |
|
6. Service Life |
Can last 10–15 years |
Susceptible to mold, detachment, cracking, etc.; usage typically <5 years under poor conditions |
